CCL INTRODUCES "GREEN" TECFLEX 800S
New High Performance ductwork requires 90% less solvent
Specifiers and contractors seeking a green solution to building services requirements acquire a powerful new tool with the introduction of Tecfkex 800S by CCL Veloduct Ltd.
Tecflex 800S is the new and improved version of the existing CCL flexible ductwork design, which already leads the market. Now, thanks to a new manufacturing process, Tecflex 800S no longer requires solvents as the principal bonding agent. It's estimated that the amount of solvent used in production of the new ductwork has been cut by over 90%.
David Barker, joint Managing Director of CCL Veloduct Ltd explains the significance of this new development:
"The new Building Regulations, Local Agenda 21 and other legislations require the UK building services industry and its clients to create a comfortable internal environment by means which are compatible with a sustainable environment. This affects not just the way that products perform on site when connected to the system, but also the environmental cost of producing them. We believe that Tecflex 800S is a major step forward in this process."
Energy Efficiency Improved
New Tecflex 800S is a greener product but prices remain competitive and energy-efficiency is actually improved.
A new type of construction is employed with the supporting high tensile steel wire helix embedded between two layers of fabric resulting in approximately 10 - 25% less resistance on ducts of 200mm diameter or larger when compared with Tecflex 800.
Tecflex 800S has been tested for fire resistance to BS 476 Part 20 at Warrington Fire Research maintaining its integrity throughout the one hour test period.
Tectherm 800S will also be available. This product retains all the principal features of the 800S design, but incorporates a 25mm thick layer of insulation retained by an outer jacket of scuff resistant reinforced aluminium laminate fabric.
Both Tecflex 800S and Tectherm 800S will be offered in a full range of diameters from 80mm up to 600mm. Products will be supplied in six metre lenghts as standard, but other lengths will be available to special order.
