Now available from all branches of CCL Veloduct Ltd is the original range of Iris Duct Dampers for use with circular and spiral ductwork.

The company is now sole importer of the range direct from ABB in Finland.

Quick and easy to install, Iris Duct Dampers provide effective control of airflow in either direction. The opening and closing action is similar to that used to operate the shutter in a camera and resembles the dilation of the human eye - hence its distinctive name.

Use of this mechanism means that the overall dimensions of the damper are minimal and, since the damper can be fully opened, no access is required for cleaning. Dampers can be used in close proximity to elbows and T pieces without causing undue turbulence in the air stream.

Iris Duct Dampers are designed for maximum long life reliability. Units are principally constructed from hot-galvanised steel sheet and connecting spigots are supplied complete with rubber sealing gaskets as standard.

Measurement and regulation
All units incorporate combined measurement and regulation ports, which can be used to measure the pressure when commissioning the system. Dampers also feature an inbuilt scale, which gives easy reference to the variation in air volume through the duct at different settings. Precision engineering during manufacture means that Iris Duct Dampers can adjusted to any required position between fully open and closed and will remain in that position until resetting of the system is required. This ensures accurate control of airflow and stable indoor air conditions. Motorised Dampers with electric actuators are also available.

All sizes from 100mm to 800mm feature a special rotary adjustment knob, which is designed to prevent unauthorised adjustment and also helps to ensure the airtightness of the casing.
