Jolly boating weather – Mike Goodspeed, regional sales manager for Contract Components Ltd (CCL) takes to the water to try out a unique boat built entirely from CCL components.

The boat, designed by artist Liam Curtin, was making its maiden voyage down the canal to the Bridgewater Harbour Basin which surrounds Manchester’s new International Conference Centre.

The components, including spiral tube, weather cowls, Tecstrut channel, Tecseal duct sealant and a host of others, were supplied free to Liam so that he could construct this striking visual artwork for the Manchester Arts Festival.

Sponsors and creator were all delighted with the seaworthiness of the galvanised steel craft which completed its voyage to the Festival Centre without mishap.
