New CCL Intumescent Dampers have one hour fire rating

Ventilation specialists Contract Components Ltd (CCL) have introduced a new range of Intumescent Fire Dampers with a full one hour rating.

The new Tecfire range embraces both rectangular and circular units. All models feature free areas in excess of 50%. Low maintenance - there are no moving parts - and a slimline construction only 38mm thick make Tecfire ideal for use in association with transfer grilles in modern doors and partitions. CCL Tecfire dampers are equally suited to duct mooring.

The new Tecfire Dampers are made up of verticle pvc slats spaced 16mm apart and filled with a high performance intumescent material. Tensioned steel ties pass through the slats to ensure the units maintain their structural integrity. Circular modles are additionally contained within a pair of aluminium rings.

In a fire situation, the pvc and intumescent core soften, but are prevented from saging by the suporting structure. As the temperature rises the core intumesces with sufficient pressure to seal off the aperture in approximately 3 minutes.

Tests carried out by Warrington Fire Research Centre assesed Tecfire dampers as maintaining their integrity and insulation for in excess of one hour.

To complete the installation, CCL offer a comprehensive range pf steel return air grilles in white, stove enamelled finish and satin anodised alluminium grilles in a variety of configurations including non-vision types.
